Artisan Bio

I have been involved with living history for over 25 years. I began this journey as many of us do as a mountain man. I was inspired by Robert Redford as Jeremiah Johnson, as well as Brian Keith and Charleton Heston in the Mountain Men. Living in Indiana, not a big call for mountain men! My interest began to take a side track to the 18th century colonial long hunter and woodsman. I have been going down that trail for about 20 years. I have been working with powder horns on and off since the early '90's, and have taken it seriously after I had the fortune of meeting Jim Dresslar at his shop in 1997. I have been making powder horns on a regular basis ever since. I am a member in good standing with the Honourable Company of Horners. If you're interested in any of the horns you see, or custom work, feel free to give me a call!

YMHOS,
Ron Turner
