Artisan Bio

I began building rifles in 1989. After several years of attending seminars and studying on my own I began building rifles full time and for about ten years had a very busy trade. I was honored to make the NMLRA prize rifle for the Primitive Rendezvous in 2001. I took a sabatical in 2004 to attend graduate school and, with that behind me, I have again started building rifles on spec for clients and as gifts for friends and family.

I maintain a weblog at http://www.mcnabbsstation.blogspot.com where I discuss gunmaking as well as my other interests including period furniture making and 18th century residential joinery and carpentry. I look forward to attending most of the shows from here on out and look forward to meeting people and discussing my work.
