Stewart R. Johnstone, born May 26, 1933, grew up in Royal Oak, Michigan. He began making wooden model guns as a boy and graduated to working on rifles after discharge from the service after the Korean War. He began working part time as an artisan in 1957 creating long rifles. Though an apprentice to no one, he has had the privilege of knowing many collectors who have allowed him to study and recreate fine original rifles. Many of these
