Artisan Bio

Jeff Prechtel is a historical artist and illustrator.

His career in the graphic arts, illustration and fine western and Historical art, has spanned the last 30 years. During his career, he has illustrated books and magazine articles, as well as producing Western & Historical themed fine art. Jeff has also been providing artwork for On The Trail magazine for well over 10 years. Jeff's enjoys depicting periods of the early American frontier, the American Fur Trade, Native Americans,
as well as the cowboys and gunfighters of the American West.

To create his work, Jeff draws on his extensive knowlege of American history does extensive research, as well as drawing on his many years as a living historian. Jeff resides in Southern indiana, where he enjoys
tramping the countryside taking in the local history and architecture.
