Product Description

.36 caliber rifle over a 16 gauge 30″ barrels. Probably built between the 1850’s to 1860’s. The only marking I can find is a serial number of 336 on the action. This action was possibly made by Remington who sold them to gunsmiths to built combo guns on. I’m told this is a taken down model. If the trigger guard is removed and the locks removed a tapered pin can be driven out and the barrels lifted upwards. I haven’t attempted doing this since I’m selling this for an estate. The locks and triggers work and the bores are shootable. Good rifling on the .36 caliber barrel all the way to the breech. The shotgun barrel is smooth with very minor pitting. Both bores had light surface rust of course. I ran oily patches down both bores and this removed some of it. I think they would clean up really good with some more work. The walnut stock is good without any cracks. The length of pull from the front trigger to the middle of the buttplate is 14″.The shotgun lock works fine. The rifle lock works fine but has a set trigger that does want to hold at full cock, needs some adjusting of some sort. This would be a fine addition to a collection or just a fine fun gun to clean up and put back in service. It wouldn’t take much I thnk. $1,250.00 plus shipping will put it in your collection.
