Barrel is Signed “G.W. Humphreys” in Cursive, as Rifle Maker. Lock is made and Marked “Conestoga Rifle Works” while Barrel is written in STENCIL “SCHNEIDER”. I have researched the Rifle, and a little History behind it.
The Rifle has a nice Stock with a formed Cheekpiece on the Left Side, sans Patchbox with Two Well-Done, Matching and Symetrical Robust Stock Reinforcements atop the Wrist. Overall Length of the Rifle is 53 1/2″ with a Pull of 14″ It has Double-Set Triggers (Functioning), Strong Hammer, Solid Barrel measuring 38″ in Length. Barrel is .36 Caliber, measuring 1″ Across Flats and 1 1/16″ Across the Corners. Bore Dark, Rifling Strong. Ramrod.
