Here is a Deringer trade rifle in near perfect condition with an unaltered flintlock stamped H Deringer. The 42.5 Inch barrel is about .62 cal with a round muzzle and an “M” stamped at the breech. Henry Sr and his son Henry Jr moved from Richmond, VA to Philadelphia in 1806 and established themselves in the trade making some Kentucky style rifles and militia contract rifles for the Indian trade. A “12” is stamped on the side plate. This example is in original condition with old surfaces and no damage.
Generally trade rifles of this period are heavily used and altered. This rifle is remarkable and would be a great addition to any early rifle collection.
