A small group of rifles relating to this present example have checkered wrists, openwork sideplates, low-combed architecture, and patchbox lids that do not overlap the butt plate. The rifle has its orignal lock in unalterd flintlock condition, a 42 inch rifled barrel, simple incised carving, plain maple stock with a repair in front of the lock. All mounts are original. A southern rarity. Please visit my website at www.AspenShadeLTD.com for more antique Kentucky rifles.
