Product Description

This is likely an original late 18th or early 19th century knife. The overall length is 11 3/4” and the blade is 7” long and 1” wide at the guard, which is iron. It was made from a file (shown in photos). The 4 ½” long handle is bone that has been flattened on the sides to a thickness of ½”. There is an age crack (shown). Original file marks are evident on the bone. The bolster is pewter. The knife is untouched, uncommon today, and the condition is ‘as found.’ It has a deep, rich patina. It has no provenance, other than coming from an estate sale where no one knew about its history. $200, shipping included, and I take PayPal (preferred), money order, or check.
