Decent rifle with a nice patchbox and a 40″ barrel. Someone broke the forestock in two places, probably while trying to take the gun apart years ago, and the barrel pins were missing, also. Forestock now glued, barrel pins and ramrod replaced. The side panels on the patchbox are engraved to sort of give the effect of a cut-out. Have you seen this on any others? I’m hoping it might suggest the maker. The rifle is unsigned. Snyder and Pettit are two Ohio names that come to mind, especially when comparing the patchbox. Thanks for looking. John
