Product Description

Box # 607

Bentwood boxes have been made and used for storage in European cultures for several hundred
years. My boxes are made by using 18th Century bending and shaping techniques, and they are
appropriate for any 18th or 19th Century living history interpretation.

It will also look extremely well in houses with either rustic or Early American décor.
Bentwood boxes were used by men in their shops and by women in the homes to store small
items. I also use historical reproduction paints for my boxes, similar in color to boxes found on boxes in
18th Century museums in America. The box would also make a great Christmas gift for the reenactors
in your family.

While most traditional 18th Century bentwood boxes were either painted or, if left unpainted,
they were made from plainer woods. Modern tastes, however, will often prefer a box made from finer
wood like cherry or walnut, so I do make some boxes with those woods. Box # 607 is made from walnut
with a natural finish.

My boxes have been juried in the Directory of Traditional American Crafts by Early American Life
Magazine. With proper care, my boxes will last a lifetime.

Box # 607 is my ‘C’ size. It is round in shape, about 7 inches in diameter and about 3 inches high.

Box # 607 sells for $ 55.00, plus shipping and handling.
