(SOLD) Haversack with Veg Tanned Flap and ‘Deerslayer’ Rifle Motif
Here is a new haversack style/forage bag I handmade, “inspired” by the late 18th and early 19th century hunting accoutrement and decorated with hand painted artwork. My bags are a combination of both traditional and contemporary designs. The bag is made from a walnut hull dyed striped heavy cotton duct fabric and fully lined with a double interior pocket. All hand-stitching done with natural linen and hemp beeswaxed thread. The flap is a rustic veg tanned leather with a painting motif of Hawkeye from James Fennimore Cooper’s first novel in The Leather Stocking series “Deerslayer” which is the name of his rifle.
The bag measures 12×14 with a 49” red striped jute strap. The flap is secured with a leather tab and domed brass button.
This would make a wonderful addition for anyone into Muzzleloading…hunting…reenacting…or as a beautiful art wall hanging decor.
Please note these are durable bags and the flap artwork is permanent. They are strong enough to carry your personal items in the field.
