Here is a nice kidney shaped shot bag made with vegetable tanned calf skin. It measures 8″ deep x 10 1/2″ wide center to center with a 1 1/4″ gusset. The bag is stained deep amber and is lined with a continental army blue twill. It is completely hand stiched with brown linen thread. The flap is lined with leather. All seams have a leather flange sewn in for durability. I have added double brass buckles to the strap for complete adjustability. I have treated the bag & straps with Fiebings Aussie wax. This is all I use on my bags and have used it for 30 years. It makes the calfskin very soft to the touch.
The aged folkart powderhorn measures 13″ on the outside curve. It is scrimshawed with a nice border around the base along with the year 1759, a french cross and a flying Sandhill Crane. I have added two of my aged copper cones to the hand made poplar spout. The strap has double brass buckles for even adjustability.
