This Bedford 36 caliber rifle was made to showcase the aesthetic appeal of its length mated to being an accurate target or varmint shooter. The 42 inch Colerain barrel is set in a curly maple number 4 maple stock, which not only has stripes but also random mottled and banded colors. The barrel is mated to an L&R Bedford double trigger and Bedford lock. The rear trigger has an even easy pull and is 13 ¼ inches from the butt plate, while the front trigger is 14 ¼ inches. The sleek trigger guard and silver side plate accent the length and shape of the rifle. The butt plate, trigger guard, thimbles, nose cap, 6 discrete inlays, and the toe piece are brass. A brass touch hole cleaner was added to the underside of the cheek rest. The barrel, side plate, and lock were left in steel and German silver. A cleaning rod is included, along with a striped hickory ram rod with jag tip. The patch box and toe plate have been engraved and there is an oak relief carving on the butt. Along the fore-stock and near the wrist are grape incised carving motifs.
