Product Description

This is a museum quality early English matchlock made by Jurgen Kreckel who also made most of the matchlocks used by Jamestown Settlement here in Virginia. Jurgen is well known for producing very fine early guns.

This gun is stocked on a nice piece of walnut with handmade steel mounts. The barrel is a custom made oct-round with a cannon ring mouth. It is 44″ long and 12 gauge (.72 caliber). The bore is excellent. The lock was handmade by Jurgen. The ramrod is held in by the section of wood near the muzzle that is drilled out and reinforced with a steel band. The shooting rest has forged and turned steel parts on an ash shaft. The bandoleer is a period correct copy with 12 hand-turned powder vials and a ball pouch suspended from the bottom. This style was referred to as “the 12 Apostles”. This gun is very well made, simple yet elegant in form. Comes with extra match cord.

The gun looks like new and I don’t believe it has been fired. The gun holds and points very well. Weight 7 lbs. 10 ozs. Pull is 13½”
