This is a very nice Lancaster style longrifle by Frank Bartlett. It is very high quality with a lot of well done wire work. This rifle is used but in very good condition. This rifle is stocked in a piece of very nice curly maple that that is stained to a nice medium brown. The entire stock is covered in very well executed silver wire work. There are a few light wear points and handling marks but nothing out of the ordinary for a rifle that is 35 years old. The hardware is iron that was browned but is worn in some areas to a nice grey color. The patchbox release is an ebony button in the center of the lid. The barrel is probably a Getz, 42″ long swamped in .58 caliber. The bore is in excellent condition. The lock is a Chamber’s large Siler style and there is a touch hole liner. The double triggers will fire set or unset. Overall it is in very good condition. Inlets are tight and well done. It’s a little on the heavy side but it holds and balances very nicely. A rifle of this quality would run almost double the listed price today. Weight is 9 lbs. 14 oz. Pull is 14″. www.claysmithguns.com
