This smooth rifle was made by Cory Joe Stewart of NC. The smooth rifle was inspired by a couple of aspects from original Moravian Smooth Rifles, but is not an exact copy of any. The rifle is heavily aged, but is a new build.
The barrel is a 46 inch .72 (12 Gauge) custom barrel made in the pattern of a Brown Bess barrel. The barrel is fitted with both front and rear sights.
The overall length of the rifle is 62 inches. The stock is Sugar maple, stained with Aqua Fortis.
The trigger pull is 13 1/2 inches and the weight of the trigger pull is 2 1/2 to 3 pounds. The trigger sits right on the sear so it is a quick snap.
The gun weighs 9 pounds total.
The lock is a Chamber’s Early Germanic that has been modified for appearance. and a white lightening touch hole liner is installed.
The strap was woven by Kris Polizzi and is adjustable.
