24 guage trade gun. Built by Jack Brooks. built to represent a late 1830’s/1840’s trade English trade gun. 58 cal/24 guage smoothbore 36″ Caywood barrel. Caywood flint lock correctly converted to percussion with custom made drum. Caywood trigger guard…..the most correct you can get for this period gun. European walnut stock. English proof marks on barrel. screwed on custom butt plate & downward breech plug tang screw that screws into trigger plate. fire blued barrel & bright lock and trigger guard, lightly aged. tapered hickory ram rod with brass 10-32 thd tip on bottom end. your fingers wrap around this gun very well. very slender like originals of this time period. shoots a round ball well and patterns shot well. has rear sight in shallow dove tail. you could be remove rear sight and plug dovetail if you want. $2100 plus shipping.
