I have just finished 2 angel round ball blocks. My inspiration came from 2 angels on the 1758 John Campbell powder horn pictured and described in the Engraved Powder Horn book by Jim Dresslar. The angels are both a little different as I sketched, scrimshawed and stained each by hand. The angels are synthetic ivory that has the texture and feel of bone while the wood is curly maple. I have one in 50 caliber and one in 54 caliber.
