Product Description

This 54 caliber flintlock rifle models early colonial Virginian design elements. These include the Chambers Colonial Virginian lock, early VA trigger guard, butt-plate, full size side plate, and J.Sheetz patch-box. The rifled barrel gives solid dependability, consistent accuracy, and reliability. This rifle is built for brush and timber hunting performance with a barrel length of 36 inches. All furniture pieces are brass, with the exception of the pewter steel VA lock(flint included). The Colerain 36in. x 15/16th barrel has been browned. The best curly maple #4 stock has an outstanding tiger stripe. The ram rod is striped, has brass tip an includes a wad puller and cleaning rod supplied. The Davis trigger has a pull length of 13 ¼ to the rear trigger and 14 ¼ inches to the front trigger. The toe plate is by M.Fry and the double thumb print thimbles are octagonal. Six fancy inlays adorn the forestock and the chevron nose piece completes the front furniture. A compliment of metal engraving on the side plate, patch box and toe plate are indicative of the engravings of the time. Additionally, there are incised grape wood designs on the fore-stock and a tasteful oak relief design on the butt stock. A rifle of this caliber will bring down elk, moose, and deer with one clean shot. This rifle (not fired) features all the elements of a Virginian rifle and is offered at the price of $2,850 with free shipping in a plywood box within the continental USA.
