Product Description

Offered is a like-new Armstrong rifle by renowned builder Richard “Dick” Miller. Miller is a highly respected gunmaker whose work has been featured in Muzzleblasts, and he was an active member of the NMLRA Gunmakers Hall for over 50 years. He is no longer actively building firearms, making examples of his work increasingly scarce.

The rifle features a beautifully carved stock of highly figured maple, complemented by an elegant combination of engraved brass and silver furniture. Inletting is superb, with metal-to-wood fit that is tight, clean, and seamless throughout. The rifle is in exceptional condition, showing no marks, scratches, or signs of wear, with the exception of a very minute dent/impression at the edge of the patch box (barely visible in image five). Long, slender, and graceful in form, it handles effortlessly thanks to its swamped barrel and excellent balance.

The barrel is a 47.5” swamped .45 caliber, measuring .925” at the breech, .759” at the waist, and .835” at the muzzle. The bore is pristine—bright, shiny, and clearly very lightly used. The barrel and lock plate are tastefully browned. The Siler lock shows only a few strikes on the frizzen, and the internals remain exceptionally clean.

Overall length is 64”, with a 14” length of pull. Weight is 8 lbs. 11 oz.

Medical bills force sale. Asking $7,750 shipped within the USA.
