I began building in the late 1980s. I started a small reproduction/restoration business called The New England Flintlock Shoppe as an outlet for my interests and as supplementary income to my pastoring position. During this time I also was involved in presenting the gunsmithing craft at various museums and living history venues. Refusing to be used as a political pawn by the Clinton administration, I chose to let the business go rather than compromise my principles.
Though I am still actively pastoring the Bible Believers Baptist Church in Fitchburg MA, I have retired from secular employment and am once again producing flintlocks!
At this time, rather than taking orders, I am creating what I want and then putting it out for sale to any person interested .
My current interests lean towards Moravian and Lehigh valley types but my repertoire is quite broad including New England Fowlers and rifles, Club butt Fowlers, York and Lancaster rifles plus many more. A few of my creations can be seen in Track of the Wolf’s archives.
