I began blacksmithing and leather work as a teenager, I have continued it over the years on and off. After retiring from the Army I began to work in it more and more. When I retired for the second time in 2015 I have pursued it a great deal more. I have always had an interest in history and in particular the Civil War and our colonial period.
Now I mostly create items inspired by 18th century pieces. I make my knives from "recycled" steel such as old saw blades and files. Much as our ancestors did, nothing went to waste. My leather work also revolves around the same period. mostly making sheaths for my knives but I do other items as well.
